SNUGGLE UP IN AUTUMN COZIES!

The Green & Pink Guide to Making it Through The Lockdown…

Well, how times have changed since our last blog! We hope that you and your families are safe and well.
We are all living in pretty scary times and firstly here at Green & Pink we have to pay our huge respect to all the key workers and NHS staff who are putting their own personal safety at risk every day. We had a little cry last night at 8pm when we all went outside to give them a round of applause, it brings the reality of the situation to life doesn’t it?
We can all play our own part in limiting the spread of Coronavirus by following the Government guidelines and so with week 1 of the UK Lockdown coming to a close we wanted to share some top tips to keep you and your family sane and healthy.
1. Maintain perspective
It is very easy , watching the news, to allow the current situation to get you down but we have to focus on the positives, you are safe, you have a roof over you head, the government is providing financial aid for those who need it the most and we have amazing modern technology to stop us all from feeling isolated. Our fabulous friend Vikki Heath at Rural Space has been keeping us sane with all her fabulous advice and has shared these top tips to help keep perspective and manage anxiety over this period…

2. Get some exercise
What a national hero Joe Wicks has become, if you are not already joining the millions of others to do his 9am morning workout then we highly recommend that you join in, we’ve been fans for a long time here at Green & Pink and our love for him has just grown even more, even if we do sit in our PJs and just watch most mornings!
3. Go outside if you are well enough.
Fresh air is really important to our mental wellbeing. The government is allowing us to go out once a day to exercise. Take advantage of the outdoors while you still can
4. Catch up with friends
WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Facetime and now Houseparty, we have loads of ways to connect virtually with friends and family, so once your daily work Zoom call is over why not arrange a Houseparty with friends over the weekend, we’ll be having a virtual family quiz this weekend to keep our brains active, then a glass of wine with the girls next Wednesday for a good catch up and a gossip!
Also don’t miss out on our weekly antics in the Green & Pink Instagram live at 7.30pm on Tuesday.
5. Make a family dance video!
The internet is full of videos that have been making us giggle this week so why not make you own family dance video. If you’ve got 2 left feet then Strictly’s Oti Mabuse has been uploading amazing lessons onto her Youtube channel, follow her Instagram to stay up to date or if you are a bit more old school like us and dreamt of being a student at the High School of Performing Arts, then now is the time to make those dreams come true, dance teacher Lydia Grant AKA the fabulous Debbie Allen is hosting live lessons on her Instagram, we’ll be getting the tap shoes on tonight at 7pm!

Above all Stay Safe, Protect The NHS, Save Lives, with Love Green & Pink 💚💕x.
